Visit website: www.northmacedirect.com Northmace & Hendon supply hotels worldwide with products such as Hairdryers, Kettles, Irons and Coat Hangers. They needed a new site built that was stylish looking, yet easy to navigate and could easily incorporate their ever expanding range of products. Northmace Direct was set up so that UK customers can easily order new products online, without any hassle. Appearance wise, the site needed to follow the same structure as its parent (www.northmace.com), but needed to have a new area for prices to be displayed, and also include a bespoke shopping cart system. As with the parent site, all the products are displayed dynamically, via an ASP connection to the products database. When a user clicks on a product, the site accesses the database, retrieves the relevant information (image, details, price etc) and then generates the information in a user friendly format. Once the user has decided on a product they would like, they can then add it to their "basket" and can alter the number of items they would like to order, remove items from the basket, and finally, if they are happy, proceed to the checkout. The checkout is provided by the online payment provider Worldpay. Once the user is ready to pay, they are taken to the checkout page, which has been seamlessly integrated into the site. Here they simply need to enter their payment details, click order, and the transaction is completed there and then.
